Fragments from imaginary dialogues
“What are QM Cards?”
“‘QM’ stands for Questions & Models. This has become one of my signature combos.
‘Cards’ stands for a specific kind of structure:
- Questions – one or more questions related to the model.
- Quote – Similarly to the flavor text on Magic the Gathering cards, every qm card ends with a powerful quote that for me expresses the essence of the model.
“Are you referring to physical cards?”
“They can be. You can make a ‘deck’ of them and shuffle them like playing cards.
They can also be digital. In my CommonBook [<link; medium read], I created a digital deck. I actually use the tag ‘qm cards’, which allows me to easily find them, and randomize them.”
“Can you give an example?”
“This is what the Implementation card looks like:
How to implement x ?
How will this change your behavior?
What will you do differently?
What are you implementing today? (Daily Implementation)
What is one thing you’re implementing from it?
Wisdom is all about application. (Darius Foroux)
I end the questions section with the ellipsis (three dots) because the cards are constantly evolving.”
